Applebee's Grill - Helena

I had a wonderful lunch with my family at Helena's Applebee's today! The burgers were served hot, delicious, and beautifully presented. Our waiter was excellent—prompt, friendly, and not too overbearing. Keep up the great work!

There seems to be a disconnect in how some staff view their roles, particularly the larger man who works Wednesday evenings—his demeanor is not reflective of a welcoming business environment. He has a voice fit for movies but a face suited for radio, and frankly, he does not seem to possess much common sense. Customer service appears to have taken a backseat in many of the interactions, and it's disheartening to see employees treat customers as if they owe them something, rather than appreciating their business. It’s crucial to remember that, as patrons, we drive the restaurant's success, and if they don't step up their game, they risk losing our support. Delivery drivers, in particular, should be treated with respect, as they are serving the customer, not the restaurant itself!

We received a gift certificate from a relative back East, which led us to a restaurant we typically wouldn’t choose due to past experiences with Applebee’s. As we seated ourselves, still puzzled about what we might have done to deserve this gift, we shared a laugh over what lengths we sometimes go to save a few dollars. We opted for the all-you-can-eat menu, and they really do give you a lot to eat. The ribs were just average, the boneless wings were actually pieces of chicken breaded and tossed in hot sauce—definitely not traditional wings—and the shrimp were the standout of the three options. I gave it an extra star because they genuinely offer all-you-can-eat without the usual gimmicks that often accompany such deals. On a positive note, our server Jake was impressive, consistently bringing out food and keeping our beers cold.

I won't be back to this restaurant. Was sitting at the bar and the manager Tim kicked a couple out because they were talking to another couple louder than the manger like. The manger stated the gentleman was disrespectful to him when the man was in no way shape or form disrespectful to the manger. People should not be kicked out of a bar because the manger doesn't like their opinions.

We love the nachos and the service is usually good but the booth seats are very uncomfortable!
