Friends Brgrs - Helsinki

Trying to find a non fast food brgr restaurant I came across this restaurant in Helsinki city centre. They didn't have my choice of the crispy chicken, instead was offered two small fish finger type chicken as a meal. It was fast food. The price was twice as much as the UK fast food chains but the quality not that different.

I got the classic burger but veganized it—replaced the patty with the vegan patty and removed cheese and mayo. Burger was very good, but a bit too much ketchup and mustard for my taste. I love a bean based patty, and this one was delicious. Only complaint about the burger is that the bun was a little soft and fell apart in my hands pretty easily. Fries were also great. Great service and very close to the train station!

I had the Aioli burger and Ann had the vegan one. Her fries were regular and mine were topped (pico n cheese). Hit the spot! The one thing is those buns fall apart. Vegans who do not prefer the meat-resembling patties, who like beans and stuff, will definitely prefer it here! Ann was thoroughly enthused.

Probably the best burgers I’ve ever had. Eveything tastes so fresh and the burger patties are juicy and full of flavour.

Although I'm not vegan I prefer vegan food when I am eating out and thankfully, Helsinki is really good in that respect. on the 25th of August, we wanted to have dinner here with one of my friends as part of Helsinki Herkkuappro and tasted their burgers. Let's be honest, there are way better vegan burgers that you can have in Helsinki. The main problem was about their bun. I guess unlike using vegan buns from companies like Beyond Meat, they decided to do their own. However, it was falling apart easily, and huge corn ickers were disappointing. The same falling apart problem applies to their burger bread as well. It was failing to keep all the stuff together and eating the burger was a bit of a pain. Though prices were okay and service time was acceptable as well. Still, you can find better vegan burgers in Helsinki so might be a good idea to look out for them.
