Cute cozy place, you can find many coffee themed books. It's not in the center but it's for the best; it's not crowded so super pleasant.
This is a nice little cafe on the outskirts of the city center in Helsinki. They are focused on providing good quality coffee from mainly roasteries across the Nordic countries. There is usually at least 3 or 4 different roasters represented here and several different coffees from those ones to select from. Coffees are made to order, usually on the Aeropress which produces a nice smooth cup. There is of course the option of having espresso based beverages as well. All the coffees here are prepared close to perfection so the coffee itself is a reason to come here and I always try to visit when I am in Helsinki. There are of course other things than coffee here and the teas and soft drinks are good as well as the chocolate. They do also sell a lot of coffee gear for home so if you are in need of a grinder, cups, scales etc this is also the place to go. Service is always friendly and they often take the time to chat about coffee or music for that matter (the owner appears equally interested in music). Only drawback has been no wifi, otherwise I would be able to hang here and work.
Love it here! This is the first coffee place I have encountered in Europe that has made me feel so much at home. Yes, there are lots of super cute or cozy joints that I have gone to, but this one just felt like a place I would have spent a lot of time in back in California. So maybe it's just that West Coast vibe that I love. The coffee sold here comes from all over not just Nordic countries but even a place in Portland, Oregon. The wall has minimalistic design, with framed indie rock show posters, which serve as a nice companion to the underground hip hop I heard playing that day. There is also ample seating, inside and out. I like that this place is also run by coffee lovers, and that the fact is evident. While there are a handful of other snacks and beverages, coffee is the main focus, and there is plenty of merchandise on sale, including presses and other necessities. The folks at Good Life know what's up, and if you want to too, stop on by.
Good Life Coffee? I think a better name would be, yeah it's coffee just like everywhere else. Nothing special and kind of confusing that this place was listed as one of the top 5 things to do in Kallio. Perhaps this is because there are only about 5 things to do in Kallio total from what we could see. I wonder if reading this review will bump it off the list since now technically there are 6 things to do in Kallio if you include reading this review while in the district. Anyhow I would say go there if for some reason you are passing by, but I wouldn't go out of my, your, or anyone's way to do it.
A cute little coffee shop in the heart of Kallio. Yet another sign of rapid and irreversible gentrification, sure, but that's not always a bad thing. The coffee is good (but pretty pricey 3e for the tiniest macchiato) and the interiors calm and stylish. If they'd have wifi and longer opening hours I'd hand out more stars and hang out here all the time.
