Ka-shing - Helsinki

The place is family-owned as has been around for decades (the current staff were small kids back then). The food is not great, but good, and the staff is nice. Not the best chinese place in Helsinki, but definitely worth visiting if you are in the Lauttasaari neighbourhood.

We ordered the Spring Rolls [2] and the Chicken Beijing [1] for take out. The order was ready within minutes. The Veg. Spring Rolls were crisp and not at all greasy. The dipping sauce was a perfect match: Just sweet enough to compliment the veggies. The main dish was spicy enough on its own so be careful with the sidw sauce: Its really hot. Dinner for 2: 19eu

Ka-shing is a comfortable and peaceful chinese restaurant that we have frequented for years. We love the atmosphere and child-friendly attitude of this family-owned restaurant. Food tastes fresh every time without that overbearing MSG flavour that still plaques many others...

Cheap and good yes it is possible. Large portions of tasty food and really friendly service. I have eaten here more than 100 times...

The local community of Lauttasaari knows this place since the 1990's. This family run chinese restaurant is very cosy and the staff is very polite and helpful. During lunch hours they serve a set lunch which changes every day. You can also chose your food from an extensive meny both at lunch time and in the evening. In the evening you can make it easy for yourself by ordering a 3-course set meny with a variety of different starters, soups and spring-rolls to chose from. By the way, the spring-rolls are more than tasty. As main course you can have pork, beef or shrimps of different spicyness. To all of this you get a big bowl of fresh boiled rice. The dessert is usually banana split with ice cream. Yummy, yummy. You will certainly not leave hungry. More and more, people also use this restaurants take-away service.
