This magical place was designed by the brilliant architects Aino and Alvar Aalto. Tucked away on the rooftop of a building in the bouquet of Esplanadi, it is like discovering a hidden gem with its minimalist interior design from the early twentieth century. Today, it serves as a restaurant and museum, maintaining the original furniture and designs, including original Savoy and blown glass vases by the architect. The dim lighting, use of wood, fresh flowers in Savoy glasses, live piano music, and picturesque views of the port, cathedral, and Esplanadi make it a truly magical place to dine. We tried the boquerones with ginger and reindeer fillet, both of which were surprising and delicious. The price ranges from 50-60 euros per person, making it a great option for a special treat if your budget allows. Highly recommended for a unique and unforgettable dining experience.
The service at this restaurant was exceptional - they accommodated our gluten-free needs by offering the entire menu in gluten-free options. They even brought out a separate plate of freshly made gluten-free bread and butter. The staff was very friendly and reassuring, and the food was delicious.
