Great use of seasonal produce as promised. We all liked the tomato based starter, then taste preferences took over between fish and meat. Great concept, superb evening
This is a fabulous restaurant! The set menu consisted of fresh local ingredients (mostly from their gardens) and is expertly prepared. The chefs are your servers and go over the ingredients and cooking preparation with you. This is a marvelous dining evening in a relaxed setting
Have been a few times now but it was the first time for my friends and it will not be their last. The food is fresh vibrant and extremely tasty. It is so nice to go to somewhere that uses all local produce. We had one of each of the small plates and a courgette flower pizza and shared between the three of us. It was all presented beautifully as it was cooked fresh it was bought to the table. The staff were very knowledgeable of the food and were more than happy to help and guide. It is an intimate place to go to east very rustic and magical I can’t wait to go again very soon. Thank you one and all for a terrific experience once again
After visiting the Pantry several times and eating dinner at NYR, we decided to try to Sunday lunch. A relaxed ambience, with friendly staff and a good drinks menu got us off to a great start. The non-alcoholic sodas were both delicious. The gazpacho was superb, with divine tomato sweetness and other well balanced flavours and textures. Crudites were as tasty as they were pretty and the cod roe was super fishy and packed a punch. The roast itself lived upto expectations with tasty, tender beef, a crispy Yorkshire pud stuffed with rich ragu of beef and vegetables full of flavour. Treacle tart with quince and Early Grey was the right degree of sweetness and had lovely crunchy notes too. Outstanding. My only request would be a glass of Cornish wine to further add to the commitment to local produce and sustainability.
