Kroken Bistro - Hemsedal

This is so much more than the reviews suggest. Bar and bistro doesn’t do it justice. To be clear there are two restaurants the first which most of reviews seem to focus on) is a family friendly diner with lots of atmosphere, the other is an a la carte restaurant with incredible food. We went for the a la carte. For starters we shared two among three) a mushroom pate on toasted bruschetta with brown butter, forest fruits and truffle, for main my wife and I both went for the Skrie a bit like Cod) on a bed of barley while our daughter had a pearl barley risotto. For pudding we went for the white chocolate mouse with meringue and fruit compote. Admittedly it’s not a big menu choice of four starters, four main and four desserts) but what more do you need. All in all a great dining experience with faultless service to boot. I can’t comment on the diner as we didn’t go there; they share the same kitchen and are under the same management so I can only assume that it will be just as good. But if you want something a bit more then this is it. We’ll done to all and thank you for a great evening.

Excellent burgers and cocktails, the broccoli side was out of this world! Very friendly staff. Would recommend everyone who passes through Hemsedal to check this place out!

It is a great place to stop and eat at Hemsedal. the menu is not very wide, but the food they make is tasty. this is a good place for those who enjoy burgers and fries. You can watch sports on the big tv and have a beer with friends. Very social place.

I was here with friends. Got a booth, played board games and darts over cocktails and burgers. The drinks here are just AMAZING!! And as much as I love meat and real burgers, the veggie burger here is unlike anything. SO good!

Very interesting and innovative meals . I had a “poke bowl” 3nights in a row , which was delicious ! Great for vegetarians . Plus they have “cards against humanity “ game .. hilarious !
