The Abbey - HENLEY BROOK

Where do I start? we were left to get our own menus, had to collect coworkers to order a drink, wait staff didn't know the menu or what drinks they served, we had haare in the food, they forgot meals that came out as soon as the half of the table had ended, they forgot our coffee (which were terrible, burned and hot again when we finally got it) we were not able to use it back.

Went here last night with some friends. A little bit disappointed. We ordered the Anti Pasto plate for 2 which was nice. A few little snacks on so we could all pick at. Also a garlic bread pizza. There was a few mains to choice from but nothing grabbed at me. Anyway we ordered the Belgium Pie, 2 Steak Sandwiches, 1 Croquettes and 1 Curry Special Butter Chicken. The pie came with chips and salad and was quite large. Was told it was tasty. The Steak Sandwich were huge and both were picked apart in the end. Was told Steak was tough and dry. Very friendly and attentive staffs. Food and ambience was really good too. They have free beer and wine tasting too. Definitely coming back.

We had an excellent big breakfast today. The service was fantastic and the food very yummy with very big serving. We have breakfast quite a number of times in Swan Valley each year and plan to be back again!

We started with Liefmans Kriek on ice, a Belgian cherry beer that combines semi-sweet and pleasantly bitter flavours. This is a well-balanced refreshing beer that even non-beer drinkers will love. The long drive and hot day became a distant memory… Next came a chicken and Camembert pizza straight from the wood-fired pizza oven behind us. It had a soft yet crispy crust and tasty flavours. We also shared a bowl of Belgian frites, which were as hoped – crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Lastly, we were persuaded to try the waffles but were pretty full so ordered one to share.
