Rising Sun - Henley-On-Thames

It was a bit of a decision last minute and I wasn't in the rising sun in probably 28 years!, but they were in the position to eat us for a nice Saturday. the food was delicious, very tasty and generously serving and attentive, but not over supporting service. we're coming back!

A very nice country pub in a quiet location. It was unfortunate that there was only 1 chef in the kitchen so food took a while to arrive. The food was a little disappointing.

Great character pub with delicious food good friendly service. Noise from Jazz was a little too much for our elderly mother but we loved it!

A real country pub. In the woods, although Henley nearby to keep the wife happy with a spot of retail therapy. Blazing fires, lots of board games, not a prissy gastro pub. Very friendly lady brought a coffee and Telegraph while I waited for my friend. Excellent menu, super soup and doorstep sandwiches, nice to see vegan/veggie choices well thought out and not one dismal last item on a menu as so often. Next time I shall try the welsh rarebit !.
