Pontillo's Pizzeria - Henrietta

Is Pontillo's more expensive? YES. Is Pontillo's worth the price? EVERY PENNY! Have I compared Pontillo's to all other local pizza shops? YES. Which shop do I order from when Pontillo's is closed? NONE, I WAIT UNTIL PONTILLO'S OPENS! Seriously, when friends and family who grew up in the Rochester area come into town, this is the ONLY pizza they want. It is the standard of Upstate New York Pizza by which all other pizzas are judged. Don't believe me? Check out how many other pizza shops in the area claim to have Pontillo's-like pizza. Everyone tries to get it right, but only Pontillo's does. This may sound like I work there or have a vested interest. I can assure you that after ordering roughly 2 pizzas a week for many years, I have received no compensation and was not asked to provide this review. I am taking the time to hopefully educate everyone in this area on where to get the best pizza, hands down. As always, ENJOY!

I ordered the buffalo chicken pizza and some cheesy garlic bread. I called ahead and the person on the phone was very friendly. They delivered to my hotel room without any issues. The food was delicious. Being from New Jersey, where we take pizza seriously, I can say that this pizza was spot on. I don't understand why there are so many negative reviews – maybe those people just don't appreciate good pizza? The chicken was cooked perfectly and the slice was well made with good dough and not too much oil. It was very satisfying. In terms of value, it might be a little bit pricey, but everything seems to be these days. However, considering you can get 2-3 meals out of it, it's not bad at all (about $15 per meal). The only thing they could improve on is adding a house dipping sauce to complement their amazing pies. I will definitely order from here again if I'm in the area. Thank you!
