The food at this restaurant is excellent, with a hint of Vietnamese flavors and ingredients. We enjoyed trying a couple of delicious drinks, including Cafe Naranja and El Mestinzo. The staff was extremely friendly. The bowls were large, flavorful, and priced incredibly well!
The food and service at this restaurant are excellent, with friendly and helpful staff. The menu clearly indicates gluten-free and vegetarian options, and the staff have a good understanding of how to safely handle gluten allergies. The prices for both food and drinks are very reasonable. The restaurant is easily accessible on foot, about a 10-minute walk from the central tourist area. It is recommended to walk instead of drive, as traffic and parking can be challenging.
Yummy ! Found this through a Google search and this place didn’t disappoint. It’s a Vietnamese infusion restaurant. Menu has a good variety you can pick from bowl options to sandwich to noodles. Good choices on their protein as well. I went for the banh mi on their freshly baked sour dough brew and it did not disappoint. Their bread is baked daily by bakers trained in France. Bread itself is so tasty and after it’s made into a sandwich it’s just yummy. Staff are SO friendly they speak English as well so that made things easier. Location is gorgeous!!! Check them out .
First off, all the great reviews were warranted. The service was top notch. The food was fresh and tasty and the atmosphere was really cool. The desserts were the highlight, especially the passion fruit tort. The only strange thing was that we couldn't order the Vietnamese bowl without mushrooms or any of the meat secondary add ons. They couldn't even put it on the side. I'm not sure if the wait staff didn't want to go against the menu or what the deal was, but that was pretty bizarre. We had to literally pick the mushrooms out of our son's bowl. I know that sounds petty given the quality of everything aforementioned, but it is a kind nudge to the restaurant to be a tad bit open to the requests. Still, I would gladly go back and recommend Cafe Rojo to anyone in town who wanted to eat well and have a wonderful experience while in San Jose.
