Los Amigos - Hermitage

Nice atmosphere. Probably the best TexMex version of Mexican food I've had since moving here. Was a little challenged with the service so I'd rather give 4.5 stars, though it worked out fine in the end so I'll stick with 5. Definitely will go back as this will be my new go-to place for Mexican in the area now. Highly recommended.

Atmosphere was fun and relaxed. Staff where busy but very attentive. Would recommend for a price budget family setting.

When the food arrived, I noticed something unusual on one of my tacos. I’ve been ordering the same dish for a year, and I’ve never seen anything like this before. I was genuinely concerned that it might be blood. I reassured the waiter that I wasn’t angry or complaining, but I wanted to know if someone had cut themselves. She responded that it was "probably seasoning," but it was hard for me to accept that explanation since it was only on one taco. To make matters worse, she didn’t come back to check on us, and another server brought our check instead. I was not upset; rather, I was worried because I’m pregnant, and if I accidentally ingested someone’s blood, I need to be checked. I also wanted to ensure that whoever may have hurt themselves was okay and that the issue was addressed. Overall, I’m really disappointed in our waiter’s service. It felt unprofessional and rude, regardless of whether the issue with the taco was as serious as I feared.

I visited this Mexican restaurant for the first time, hoping to find a new spot to enjoy. While I found the food quality to be mediocre, I was still open to giving it another chance. However, that opportunity never came. During August, which is tax-free for restaurants and groceries in Tennessee, they charged me tax anyway. When I brought this to the owner's attention, he seemed completely unaware and gave me a frustrating excuse, claiming he didn't know about the tax exemption and couldn't adjust the bill because it was all handled by the register. Anyone in retail should know better than that. As a result, I will not be returning; they clearly valued $2 over a potential loyal customer.
