Greenspot - Hermosa Beach

Located on a pier, this laidback restaurant specializes in French cuisine. I visited for brunch with coworkers after a relay race and enjoyed a satisfying meal. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating options and accepts credit cards and cash. It is also kid-friendly. Following our waiter's recommendation, I ordered the breakfast sandwich, which was generously sized and featured a deliciously flaky croissant. I opted for bacon, but the sandwich is also available in a vegetarian option. The meal came with a generous side of potatoes, and I had leftovers to take home. My coworker opted for the healthier salmon toast, which was served with a side salad. The waiter was friendly, and the overall ambiance was relaxed.

The restaurant was excellent, so we decided to come back for brunch the following day. The outdoor patio was great, the food was amazing and delicious, and the service was good.

I have been a resident of this area for many years, and I can confidently say that this restaurant on the pier serves the best meal I have ever had. Additionally, they have been awarded a Blue Zone sticker.

This new (opened about September 2023) sit down cafe is very interesting. They have some great pastries and desserts in their case. Their menu has some interesting choices. For this our first trip, we ordered pastrami sandwich, portobello mushroom sandwich, avocado toast, and a salmon platter. The salmon platter did not have a description in the menu. It turned out to be a toasted bagel with lox, and a salad. Accoutrements included capers, cream cheese, and chopped red onion. Their bagel was thin. The salmom lox was passable. It didn't taste artisanal or house made, but neither did it taste like it came from a small package. We also had a couple of their delicious desserts- key lime cheesecake and creme brulee. Notably- they did not have decaf drip coffee. We ended up ordering an Americano and subsequently asking for milk on the side. The waitress, who was personalable, did not seem like she drank coffee and so wasn't very helpful after telling us that there was no decaf drip coffee. Bottom line, their bread and desserts were delicious. We'd try it again.

My wife, 6 year old son, and me all have very different tastes. But there were great options for all of us here. Definitely coming back often!
