P31⁄2 restaurant miralago agua verde la cascada salvador escalante 01 443 2347934 views of zirahuén, island on the lake patzcuaro forestal accommodation several miles from the city; bustle indoor and outdoor dining area the restaurant has problems we had to share a menu among four guests. there was no wine list, although the wee were good the food server was not trained about wee eating was good, but first a entrée (kamin) was served, then the waiter decided to decant the bottle wein. that took time. the remaining empty were delivered ten minutes later. they need to work out how to serve food. no dessert menu. a dessert with an egg ordered. the food server said that this dessert does not come with ice cream. had difficulty explaining what we wanted. he needs a lot more training. he also had problems with the credit card machine when we tried to pay the bill. that was delicious. I loved the chicken napolitano (Alfredo sauce over pasta) which is worth eating if they want a long drive and underwhelming food service.
We were 9 adult and a child. the young 1.5 years old) had an explosion with the fountains playing there and running around the square big plus for the adult) ... eating was very good. for a vegetarian we have found an option. there were not many options, but what they had was very good)
Just returned from a Friday comida at Miralago, and out of our party of ten, five were disappointed in the food they were served. Too salty was the main complaint with both the rabbit and lamb dishes, and the fish platter came garnished with un-rinsed...capers which made it salty and briny also. I ordered the Zirahuen Lamb which turned out to be mutton instead. It seems to be a common practice in many restaurants nowadays to use the terms lamb and mutton (from sheep over 2 yrs. old) interchangeably. Tough and chewy was the only way to describe the consistency. Beef filets were done properly, drinks were good, food presentation was artfully done and the table service was adequate, although the wait staff could have been a little more helpful in explaining in saucing options for some of the dishes. Majority opinion... Nice setting/Poor Value.
This restaurant has such a beautiful setting, the grounds are impeccable and the view from anywhere either inside or outside is so beautiful. Largo Zirahuen is one of those special places (although I am biased) and just sitting overlooking in a fairly elegant setting is...heavenly. Just had drinks, but definitely will try comida there soon!
