Friendly staff, quick service, good food, imported groceries. Kid-friendliness: I have deli sandwiches with my sons at Louie’s P&R on Friday evenings. They’re great!
Wife and stopped in for lunch and it was fantastic. We also bought some cibatta rolls that are incredibly good. Nice selection of Italian food stuff, a deli in the back. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Definitely don't hesitate to stop in.
I grew up on salameat made by the original Louie P&R in the early 1970s. Recently I had a chance to visit Herrin, so I went to Louie P&R to get salameat. Not only did the clerk get my order wrong and overcharged me for the sausage, but the salameat itself was pitifully thin and pale and about half the size of the original. The taste was bland and there was no garlicky aroma like the old time big and plump salameat they used to make 50 years ago. I was disappointed. The deli is now gimmicky and offers bland sausages.
Went here for the first time this past weekend, and did not disappoint!! It’s so hard finding GOOD italian beef but this is the best italian beef sandwich i’ve ever had! Cannoli’s were good as well. I love that they have kind of everything in there you could want. Their pepperoncini’s are so good! Will be back a ton
