They were able to accommodate a large party of about 25 and even stayed late without even telling us they had closed. Food was fresh and delicious. 10/10 would return and recommend.
So the old Woodro in the Peninsula shopping center was way better! I don't care for the new owners. I called in an order and someone was picking it up for me so I asked the guy on the phone how much and he had the nerve to ask me why I'm asking the price??? I was in disbelief that he was asking me that and I actually told him the reason!!! The hamburgers weren't cooked correctly and the food seems much too salty. We don't go there anymore and would much rather drive the extra 20 minutes to Lido Kosher Deli in Long Beach. Lido is very expensive but at least the foods worth the drive and the money. Woodro isn't worth the money or the five minute drive from my house. It's a shame because there really aren't many of these types of delis left.
Classic and timeless deli/caterer ive been too more times than i can recall over the years. Very clean and anything you get is always well prepared and fresh. Soups are one of my favorite just note they are very light-handed on salt overall so make sure you ask for some when you order.
We found it to not be as good as it was in their older location. And the newer location's atmosphere is very poor.
I frankly don't understand the negative reviews. I go there about 4 times per year, order the corned beef and French fries. Never had a bad experience yet. The meat is extremely tasty, every bit as good as my childhood memories of Grabstein's of Canarsie in the 1960's, which is the Golden Standard for delis. The portion is so huge, I struggle to finish it, sometimes take half the sandwich home. The waitresses are polite and competent. Going back this week and much looking forward to it.
