My favorite was the section that had the cars from the 20's and 30's. The cars look almost like they were designed with art deco in mind. Bill and Steve were awesome in their knowledge. Bob drove us around in a Model T. Even the food at the diner was awesome, along with the staff. The grounds are so clean and well taken care of. Kudos to all that are a part of this museum. I would recommend to anyone to go.
What a nice outing day...Fascinating to see beautifully restored old cars from days gone by...and cars we remember our parents might have had....some quite luxurious in past days..and some quite unique...What style cars used to have..quite beautiful...A wonderful collection of cars to see.Nice facilities, gift shop...Lots of walking between buildings but nicely set up...beautiful restored ..saved barns from the area with different eras of cars in each building.....with a donation you can take a ride in a vintage vehicle and drive around the whole properties..with the driver giving info on the history of the gilmore museum or about the cars..really nice..enjoyable day.
Fun time for the whole family! As others have noted, they have a world class collection of cars. Other details that matter the cafe serves delicious and HUGE sandwiches and salads (worth the wait and , and the docents are living encyclopedias of knowledge. Definitely talk to them about anything that interests you. If they don't know something, they're willing to find out for you!
Wonderful collection of luxury automobiles from the past.We visited on a Tuesday, no crowds. The staff is very knowledgeable and can give a detailed history of many of the displays.Much larger than I had imagined. Several large air conditioned buildings, well lighted displays. The whole grounds and museums are spotlessly clean.I was amazed by how large the older vehicles were.We spent about two hours, would have stayed longer, our teen aged Grandsons, kept us moving, they loved it.
Be more accurate to call it a campus of car museums. a dozen or so buildings with an amazingly curated collection of classic automobiles housed in an interesting variety display buildings. a single visit is not enough to fully take this in. be prepared for a lot of walking but it is well worth it.
