Contribuisci feedbackRoom was extremely disappointing , door lock took 5 min to gain entry, carpets were filthy, mattresses should have came with cards for a chiropractor, only positive things I can say was the bathroom was clean and reception service was ok. Skip the BW mirage in high level Alberta.
They have a window roof on one side that extend all the way inside the restaurant so you can actually see the beautiful sky while enjoying your meal. Both the full rack of lamb and the New York steak was grilled with perfect caramelization and they are done exactly the way you wanted with the right amount of seasoning. The texture of both is exactly the way you would expect. Lobster Fettuccine is exceptionally rich and creamy. There is a lot of lobsters pieces and they are moist and flavorful. The best part is that pasta is hot enough to melt the generous portion of fresh parmesan cheese. On the bad side, baseball steak is a bit over cooked for medium (it is more like well done). The rice that comes with the entrée is disappointed, it is so dry to a point that it taste like it is not cooked. The mussels are overcooked therefore all the mussels were shrinked and dry. Overall, very friendly service. The table are set with right amount of space so you get to really enjoy your dinner. The quality of the dishes need to be more consistent. Lobster Fettuccine as an example, the first and second time experience were heaven and hell. Only a few days apart, the fettuccine was over cooked and not fresh hot. The rich delicate cream sauce were overly oily and not creamy.
I have not visited all restaurants in High Level, but it's hard to imagine that there are others better than this. Being from the South (Edmonton : it seems a bit pricey, but it is probably normal for around HL. Food is tasty and presented well, with good sized portions. Staff are friendly, and the chef tries to be a bit innovative with the menu (lobster macaroni, Kobe beef burger that sort of thing . Dining room is open and pleasant and feels kind of like an oasis. Yeah, it's the best around here.
Completely unexpected and delightful meal! We will post pictures, but they may not do it justice. From the warm and thick soup to the artfully plated caprese with vodka creme fraiche, balsamic reduction, cracked pepper and basil oil, every part of the meal had us smiling.
Consistency is the issue my wife and I have had at this restaurant. Menu items are interesting, show great variety and show amazing potential. We have had very good meals and so so meals. Well cooked salmon plank and chicken fingers, poorly cooked simple burgers and fries. This restaurant is attached to the nicest hotel in the town and one of the pools/waterparks in town. Big bonus points for a solid beer menu as well. Would be a 3 star, beer menu is worth a star alone, have it 4.
