The menu has a good selection at reasonable prices and the service is fast. The coffee is excellent and it doesn't get too crowded during the week. I would recommend it.
This cafe is Ideally situated for those fortunate enough to secure a space in the car park, and walkers who have arrived by coach. Not an attractive establishment by any means it is unchanged for at least five decades. The service is what would be described today as entry level. I am not its target customer but the coffee is decent. I wouldn't be poaching any of the staff. However the service is acceptable. Times have changed here in Castleton and its no longer the genteel country village of my youth and now the space that this Café occupies in no longer adequate at certain times, with a huge number of overseas visitors, a huge contingent of dogs and a cacophony of noisy chatter echoes off the hard surfaces.
Lovely coffee, delicious cakes and friendly, attentive staff. Stocked up with crisps and drinks for the hiking too!
The cafe is spacious and well-lit, with friendly and accommodating staff who were excellent with children ordering their meals. The food and drinks were all delicious. The cafe is also connected to a shop and museum. I will definitely be returning. Just remember to bring change for the public car park, as the meter doesn't accept card payments and there is no signal for online payments.
Good value coffee shop with tasty snacks and coffees etc. Situated within the visitor centre next to the carpark. Toilets inside and walk through to the visitor centre
