Costa Coffee - High Peak

I stopped by for coffee and cake and was very disappointed. The coffee was fine, but the almond slice cake was dry, as if it had been sitting out for days. The seats were filthy, the floor tiles were covered in black tape, and the table was sticky. This is not the level of cleanliness I would expect from a Costa chain. I will not be returning.

This restaurant was perfect for our needs and the staff were incredibly friendly. We stayed for at least 3 hours and did not encounter any problems with other guests. It seems like they have new staff since the last review.

The restaurant had dirty tables, local kids using the toilets as a public lavatory, noisy children with irresponsible parents, and the door was constantly open letting in cold wind. The worst part was the ungrateful staff who seemed to hate customers.

Visited late afternoon for coffee and cake. Service was quick and friendly. Coffee and cake was delicious. Plenty of seating available.

I used to enjoy a sit down and coffee here. I used to bring my baby son first thing and it was a nice, relaxing place. The staff were alway nice too. Since the refurb it feels cold. It's all hard floor, greys and browns. It doesn't feel welcoming at all I'm sad to say. I don't think I'll go in again. There are plenty of other options in Glossop.
