Ceilidh Place - Highland

I am grateful that The Ceilidh Place remained open in October when all other places had closed for the season. While waiting for the ferry to Stornoway, we were seeking a place to enjoy tea or coffee, but Ullapool had limited options available. We asked at the CalMac office for recommendations and they suggested The Ceilidh Place. Many people waiting for the ferry were wandering around looking for a place to relax. The Ceilidh Place did a great job in providing a much-needed service. I will definitely visit again in the future.

Despite some negative reviews, I found the food to be excellent and the service fast and friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant for lunch. The salad options were unique (blackberry, beetroot, and goat cheese) and reasonably priced, while the halloumi burger was also delicious.

I returned here having visited years ago. The memory had stayed with me. This is such a welcoming and cosy place, special. The bar and restaurant are great. The food is very good and the selection of beer and wine. So impressed they had two gluten free beers to chose from. The staff are all welcoming and lovely. Particular shout out to Amy who served us. What a charming and efficient host, she is very attentive and made our experience really memorable. Thank you all. This place holds a particular place in my heart!

Food was mediocre and expensive. Customer service was poor. Would not recommend, nor go back. Left feeling very disappointed.

A really fabulous dinner at very reasonable prices , The Ceilidh Place ticked all the boxes for us. A lovely buzzy atmosphere and a huge wood burner on a chilly evening were very welcoming. We started with a starter portion of a wonderful mushroom risotto, full of flavour and delicious. Followed with a burger that was just about perfect. Would love to have tried a dessert but will have to go back another time for that. The service too was faultless thanks to Gemma.
