We arrived on a very cold, wet and foggy evening so we didn't get chance to see the spectacular location views until the following day which was unbelievable to wake up to! Our stay was slightly different to normal in that we were given an itinerary for our 3 nights stay which for us was fantastic as it took away the need to worry about anything created a truly relaxing ambiance from the start! Our room was on the top floor of the house and was just fantastic, spacious but cosy and with the aforementioned great views! Whilst it was a bit hot the staff quickly helped us with turning down the heat! We were welcomed with afternoon tea with the owners of the Torridon which was great, the tea was sublime and the conversation very interesting. The hotel is not large but perfectly sized to allow guests to relax in the lounges, by the fire and enjoy a chat or drink. The evening meals, buffets and breakfasts were all great and the staff very welcoming and attentive. We took part in some of the outside activities over the Xmas period and our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly! Some of the other guests we met had been regular visitors and others new to the experience but overall I could have stayed longer and would definitely lovely to come back and do it all again one day. A truly magical Christmas experience!
I had the most extraordinary experience at The Torridon in Scotland. From the moment I arrived, I was amazed by the stunning surroundings and the warm welcome from the staff. The hotel itself is breathtaking, blending classic elegance with modern comfort seamlessly. The room was immaculately clean, a luxurious retreat with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The attention to detail in the design and the quality of the amenities truly exceeded my expectations. The dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. The culinary creations at the in-house restaurant were a delight for the senses, featuring fresh, local ingredients and exquisite presentation. The staff 's knowledge of the menu and their attentive service elevated the entire meal. The activities provided by The Torridon were fantastic. I had the opportunity to explore the outdoors with guided walks, hikes, and even some water activities. The hotel’s location makes it the perfect base for outdoor enthusiasts and those seeking the serene beauty of the Scottish Highlands. One of the highlights of my stay was the outstanding hospitality. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of my visit was remarkable. Their genuine warmth and dedication to service truly made my stay memorable. Lastly, the attention to maintaining a sustainable and eco-friendly approach was admirable. It 's evident that The Torridon is committed to minimizing its environmental impact, and this dedication to sustainability is something I deeply appreciate. Overall, my experience at The Torridon was nothing short of exceptional. The stunning location, luxurious accommodations, outstanding dining, and top-notch service made my stay unforgettable. I wholeheartedly recommend The Torridon to anyone seeking a truly extraordinary getaway in the heart of the Scottish Highlands.
Visited for an overnight on a walking weekend with my daughter. Tragically poor in every way, the food was overpriced and not of particularly good quality, Bread was not served with the soup which I brought to the waiters attention, this was acknowledged however still no bread brought to the table!,,… I struggled to eat the lamb as it was very fatty and the mashed potatoes were disintegrating into the lukewarm broth it was served in,,,,yuck! I left most of the main meal but was not asked why when the waiter removed the plates…….wine was as poor as the food and most of the bottle left, think I managed half a glass….found the waiters response to my ordering lamb instead of the venison on special a little patronising as it was a “ good climb down”
We were booked in here the night of our 40th wedding anniversary but the menu was so expensive and limited it was impossible for either of us to choose something we would like to eat. My husband decided to take me 1hr drive to a local bistro so we had a special memory for our anniversary which the torridon hotel had destroyed! It is only recently I ve been able to talk about this . We had been telling everyone at home about how we were going to have a wonderful anniversary and it was totally destroyed !
Great food, incredible management. Been many times over the past two years, and this past 6 months have been especially impressive. Creative dishes and thoughtful service.
