We opted for chocolate bomb and rhubarb ice cream for dessert all of which was exquisite! Wonderful surroundings and attentive staff.
My wife and I visited as recommended in a NC500 travel blog. The food is locally sourced and served in exceptional dishes where there is clearly some talent in the kitchen. Remember to take your own wine as the premises are not licensed. Highly recommended.
Booked for dinner. The food was sublime. Cannot fault the food nor the service. I had the Cullen Skink, venison and chocolate bomb. First class!!!!!
Located next to Scourie harbour, this restaurant is housed in a charming old lodge. The food is outstanding, and the service is both friendly and efficient. I enjoyed a delicious shank of lamb with oyster mushrooms, perfectly cooked, and the rhubarb ice cream was a delightful ending to the meal. Since the restaurant is not licensed, guests are encouraged to bring their own alcohol, which can lead to significant cost savings. Reservations are essential, so I highly recommend booking a table if you are in the Scourie area or passing through. I was pleasantly surprised to discover such a fantastic dining experience in this serene and remote location.
My family dined at this restaurant three times during our visit to Scourie and we were extremely impressed. The chef is incredibly talented and creative, blending traditional Scottish dishes with flavors from Eastern Europe. She also utilizes locally foraged produce from the surrounding hedgerows and gardens. The black pudding with sauerkraut was outstanding, and the venison was the best we have ever had. The cheeseboard featured a variety of delicious local cheeses accompanied by homemade rhubarb chutney. The restaurant manager was friendly and efficient, and both the chef and manager were very modest about the fantastic establishment they have created. On one occasion, my father mentioned that it was our wedding anniversary, and they placed a beautiful bowl of roses from the garden on our table. The restaurant is BYOB with no corkage fee, and the nearby village shop offers a good selection of wines. Due to its small size, it is recommended to make a reservation in advance, and be sure to honor your booking to avoid disappointment.
