Max's Delicatessen - Highland Park

Mid afternoon and the place was dirty. Floor was sticky near our table. Rye bread seemed a little stale.

Really good. 1st time here. I had the Denver omelet with fruit pancake he had the turkey pastrami Reuben with chips. Coffee was really good too. Joey was really cool too We will be back.

Nova lox bagel sandwich was big and yummy but a bit expensive

The experience was memorable. We make a visit to Max's every year. The staff has character and is helpful. They are busy.

I am not sure about the reason for all the negative reviews. Almost didn't even try this place due to the negative reviews. On the way back from Chicago, almost skipped this place due to the bad reviews and went next door. But next door was closed, so decided to try the place. 1) service — this is not the Ritz Carlton, it's a deli restaurant. While service was not of Ritz Carlton, it was fine.
