My boyfriend made the reservations and had mentioned that it was my birthday and also that he would be proposing in the notes expecting maybe that would secure us a good spot. We were seated in the middle room off to the side of a large group at a small table. There were booths available but it just didn’t happen for us which was disappointing. We were given a small cone with ahi tuna which I would rate a 3/5. The cone was mushy, and the sesame oil was very overpowering. The crab cakes were good 3/5 but the addition of a lemon wedge would have given it the balance it so desperately needed. For our mains we ordered the New York Strip, Filet, and King Crab which were all superb 5/5 the only complaint being that the King crab didn’t seem like it was the full 8 oz. We also got the truffle fries which were excellent, but the worst had to be the creamed spinach which tasted like it was missing the cheese/salt completely and instead was garnished with what looked like panko breadcrumbs. The foraged mushrooms looked steamed to death and were just very sad. Overall, the ambiance was nice walking in but I was disappointed with where we were placed, and given it was a special occasion and we dressed up but everyone around us was dressed very casually just made it feel much less special. The only bright spot was that our waitress was kind, but still, I can’t help but feel sad that we chose this place for our special night and cheated out of a meal we paid good money to enjoy.
I chose this restaurant for my grandmother's birthday celebration and she was definitely pleased with the excellent food and fine dining experience. I highly recommend the Pines for anyone who wants to eat like a millionaire!!
It’s over the top Ambiance, Great Food, Services Crews! Expect the unexpected! You can be treated like a Royal! ??
Matthew is an excellent server. Very friendly and knowledgeable.
Excellent service from John. The sea bass was exceptionally well prepared. I'm ready to go back for a Jasmine tea soda right now. They need to find a way to bottle that stuff. Dietary restrictions: They take dietary restrictions very seriously. Nice to know.
