The Coffee Club Te Rapa Service Centre

Avocado, feta, bacon on hash for brunch. The bacon was overcooked and cardboard dry. The desert spoon of Avocado was commercially processed out of a bag so tasteless. The hashes were lovely, crisp and flavorsome. It needed the requested relish for moisture. The chai latte was nice. Overall average.

Surprisingly good for a road food stop. Wide variety of fresh food and drink. Tasty freshly cooked and an area for the children to play or ride their bikes. Nice freshly squeezed juices as well.

Always fabulous food and service. I regularly have meetings here. Free WiFi and good seating, inside and out

I have been to a Coffee Club before, but it never left a lasting impression. Today we visited the Coffee Club on Te Rapa Road and I was blown away by how much this particular location ROCKED. We were traveling with an 18 month old and a 3 year old from Taupo to the Tutukaka Coast...not an easy task. We also had guests from Australia who were vegan. The location is just off SH1 and next to a BP service station, but even if this location was not as convenient, I would make the effort. Pros: 1. I asked for a teaspoon and a dessert fork for our 18 month old, they had, pre-wrapped in a serviette, mini sized silverware for kids. Mind blown 2. Our guests insisted they would be fine ordering at 'any cafe ', but were really pleased to find decent Vegan options and even a 'Vegan Menu '. 3. There is a 'workout ' fitness area with equipment that doubles beautifully for a playground (which pleased the kids who normally only want to eat at places with playgrounds), adjacent to the lovely covered patio eating area.. They even had a mini bike track that the kids had a great time running on. 4. The Food....was awesome! Despite all our special requests, the food was tasty, quick, and far better than the usual service stop fare. We all ordered specialty coffees/iced chocolate/frappes and they were all crazy good! 5. Customer Service....save the best for last. Despite a laundry list of special requests, the service was friendly, efficient, and went above and beyond the call of duty. Cons: 1. Literally none. Even the bathrooms were well kept and awesome. Seriously, not a single thing can I find fault with in this visit. I have saved this spot as a favorite in my maps, and we will definitely make it a standard pit stop on our long drives to Taupo! Awesome food, huge selection of all kinds of cuisine, healthy options, kids menu, expansive specialty drinks menu....the list goes on and on! I 'm shocked at how much I enjoyed it!
