We have the right to refuse to pay the service charge but there staff don't understand . If it written on the menu and you don't read the small print and you are not told it's compulsory. I don't think it is acceptable. I think trading standards my need to investigate.
Had a takeaway and found it fresh and tasty for a change from other establishments. Mogo chips lamb mushkaki, haadi lamb (lots of bone, could do with more meat) and Methi chicken with a few nans were all on point.
While nothing particularly extraordinary, this restaurant is pleasant, tidy, and perfectly suitable for a weekday evening. The service is good and there is a large selection of food to choose from. Prices are average. The standout feature is that most dishes are cooked fresh upon ordering. I would give this restaurant a three-star rating as nothing was exceptional, but they definitely deserve an average rating.
We made a reservation for a table of 6 and found the staff to be incredibly friendly. The two servers who assisted us were excellent. Unfortunately, some items on the menu were not available and the bindhi bhajya we ordered was terrible. However, it's always worth trying new dishes to find out. One thing I dislike about many restaurants in London is that the service charge is automatically added to the bill, despite staff members claiming they do not receive it. I personally prefer to speak to the staff and give them a tip directly, including the kitchen staff. I believe that service charges should not be included on the bill, as it should be up to the customer to decide how much to tip. Removing the service charge can sometimes be uncomfortable for customers, so it's better for it not to be added in the first place.
We went there on a Thursday night and they had live music. However we were the only dinners eating, other than a few others who were having drinks. However the music was so loud that we could not even hear ourselves. We asked the owner to turn it down but he kept on saying that we had been told, there is live music and he cannot send the musician home. We told him it was not the music (which was okay) but the volume, but he would get not get it!! At the end we had to walk out after the starters. The food was reasonable but the attitude of the manager was totally wrong. Had we stayed we would have spent another £50 60 on mains, and there was no other dinners there! Where was customer is always right?. May try it again, but not in a hurry.
