Amelia's - Hillsboro

The restaurant has recently introduced a "vegan" option to their menu, but it is essentially just the regular menu items without cheese, meat, or sour cream. Unfortunately, they charge extra for these modifications, even though you can get a larger non-vegan dish for a lower price. The vegan rice offered is plain white rice. I would only suggest this restaurant as a last resort, and be prepared to bring extra cash.

Today we dined at a restaurant near Intel Jones Farm on Griffin Oaks that we hadn't visited since 2019. The menu clearly labeled three items as vegan, with vegetarian options also available. Despite the slow service, likely due to the holiday weekend and short staffing, we enjoyed our meals. I ordered the enchiladas, which were filled with potato and mushrooms, topped with black beans, chilies, fried tortilla strips, and grilled onions. The dish was a refreshing change from typical Americanized enchiladas, as it contained no cheese. My husband had the vegan burrito, which was generously sized and smothered in a red sauce. Despite the lack of cheese or mock meats, both dishes were flavorful and satisfying, making them healthier choices compared to traditional options.

Service was good. Food was good. Noise was a little high

This was our first visit to Amelia’s; decided to try it before attending a concert at The Walters. We were seated immediately, and there was a loud, large party right down the middle of the restaurant and very close quarters to us, so that made talking and hearing a strain for most of our time there! However, the service and food were beyond reproach! We got there a bit before Happy Hour ended so got a street taco appetizer to share—yum! We chose al pastor which was succulent and seasoned perfectly. We ordered three different dinner plates and shared around the table. Everything was delicious! We definitely plan to go back to try breakfast, and anticipate lunch and dinner too

A surprise. From the outside, it looked to be a runofthemill barebones cafe. But inside, with friendly service and pleasant background music, the place came alive. Well worth the money and the adventure in flavor. Heartily recommend
