La Mixteca Oaxaca - Hillsboro

I am baffled by the 4-star ratings this restaurant receives. I ordered coffee and a mole tamal, but was extremely disappointed. The coffee tasted old and the tamal was dry - both the meat and masa. The overwhelming amount of mole sauce drowned out any flavor of freshness in the tamal. I ended up returning the dish, and the kind waiter didn't even charge me for the coffee. Despite the good service, I don't think I could bring myself to try another dish at this restaurant.

The food at this restaurant is absolutely delicious and authentic! The service is also great. We were visiting Portland and we are so glad we found this place. It will definitely be our favorite stop on future visits.

I have attempted to order through DoorDash three times, and each time my order was cancelled because they were unable to fulfill it. I ordered tacos and Chile rellenos. I am confused as to why the order could not be completed when the restaurant is open.

Love this place food really good only bad thing I have to say please don't make your dishes so hot spicy that you can't enjoy not everyone eats dishes to hot to enjoy I had caldo de res not suppose to be spicy my grandson could not eat it other then that great food ..

Best tamales ever.. service was great, tamales were not only delicious but presentation was spot on. My husband got the birria, which was also very tasty. Will be going back again.
