Pho Saigon Bistro - Hillsboro

I've unfortunately experienced food poisoning from this restaurant multiple times. The bánh mì, pho, lemongrass pork plate, and pad thai all made me sick on different occasions. It's a shame because the food is delicious, but after this last incident, I won't be ordering from here again. Their food handling practices seem inadequate.

The food here is reasonably priced and delicious, especially the banh mi sandwich, which is outstanding. However, the atmosphere is not very welcoming, and the service can come off as somewhat aggressive. I suspect this place is family-run, which is nice, but they seem to be a bit overwhelmed. Every time I’ve ordered from the woman who works here, she seems frustrated, and communication has been difficult. This has resulted in me receiving the wrong order (I asked for fried rice instead of white rice TWICE after repeating myself several times). My advice would be to order in person for takeout. Also, if you come here for boba or pearl tea because you see it on the menu, be aware that there isn’t any available. I'm not sure why it's listed online, as it seems like a simple thing to restock.

Most meat I have seen in a bowl at a Vietnamese restaurant. Lately I've noticed a lot of restaurants putting less meat in their food but not here! The vermicelli bowl tasted great. The chicken, beef, and pork had a lot of flavor. The rice plate we got tasted good but the chicken was thick and on the dry side.It is a casual restaurant and when we went in, there seemed to be only 1-2 people working and the restaurant was busy. The wait was long but the food overall was good. I'll definitely be coming here more often

Understaffed but amazing food. My Holy Grail is the Pho Special. The Next Time Around is the #2 Barbecue Pork Banh Mi. The Hidden Gem is the #46 Broken Rice Plate and Crispy Fried Noodles w/ Seafood

I was originally really disappointed in the service. The lady was super short and overall not very pleasant to me, I left a good tip anyway and hoped for the best! And I was NOT disappointed!!! the food was sooooo good that I don’t care about the service at all. She made me the best Toro milk tea, the egg roll was super fresh. the second half of my Bahn Mi was so good even cold… I don’t care if the service is not great, sometimes people are going through things, and she was really busy. We don’t gotta be best friends, I just want good food… Food was definitely one of the best I’ve had in town. It’s far for me but I will definitely go back.
