I went to the cafe for breakfast on a Saturday. I was told that breakfast had finished being served. The time was 10.30am. I ordered the fish and chip special, calamari and 2 coffee's. The coffee's came out 20 mins later and were cold. 12noon arrived and we still did not have our meals. There were only 4 other tables occupied, so the cafe was far from busy. I ended up canceling our order and we went elsewhere. Only good thing was that we were not charged.
We went for breakfast with a group of 8 on a quiet Sunday morning. Unfortunately, it took 1 hour and 20 minutes for our food to arrive. The Bircher muesli was served hot and the yoghurt was forgotten. The soft poached eggs were overcooked and one dish was missing the grilled tomato while another had bacon added to it, which was later removed leaving bacon fat on the plate. The lambs fry was not thinly sliced as expected, but served in chunks. The pancakes were missing the berries and ice cream, and when they finally arrived, both were frozen. The only meal that was enjoyable was the omelette.
I went with friends and family. I ordered French toast with bananas ($10). The bananas were burnt into a flavorless, slimy spounge. The toast was completely dry, and the plate was warmer than the whole meal, which was, for the record, below room temperature. Not to mention, it took over an hour to arrive. Someone I was with ordered a vanilla latte, and it took the staff 3 attempts to get it right. Everyone who had bacon with their meal said it was cold.
What a lovely place to relax away from the hustle and bustle.food is excellent and drink prices very reasonable.the friendly staff and live music on a sunday afternoon make for a relaxing experience
