Frank's Foods Inc - Hilo

Born and raised on the Big Island, Frank's Foods was always my go to meats for dinner franks and portuguese sausage. Ever since I moved to the concrete jungle of O'ahu, there was no other brand that can compare to what Frank's Foods puts out. As a matter of fact, Frank's Foods got my O'ahu native boyfriend convinced that their dinner franks are WAYYY much better than Redondo's! With that being said, with every trip back home leads me to a mandatory stop to Frank's Foods. Not only do they have portuguese sausage and dinner franks, but they have a plethora of other meats perfect for a hibachi (bbq) night. Since you'll be purchasing directly from the company, you'll actually get decent pricing for it. The location is a few streets above the Life Care Center of Hilo on West Kawailani Street, right after the bridge. After going through their driveway, you'll see the little warehouse on the right. After parking your car, you walk up to the window and place your order. The staff here are always friendly and willing to help. If you are a frequent buyer, they also offer a stamp card! Now if you're off the island and are in the need for some amazing meat, you can always call to place an order (yes, they ship but you will need to call them for more info). Overall, Frank Foods carries some delicious meats and luckily for me, some of the grocery stores on O'ahu carries their portuguese sausages. Now as for the dinner franks, I still need to get back home to pick up for my stash.

I enjoy patronizing local businesses, even when I travel. I am with friends,we are on vacation, wanting to cook... Looking for delicacies... blood sausage, Portuguese sausage... this gem is tucked away in a residential neighborhood... good people, great product.

Service was very slow! One of their long time employee has retired. She knew me quite well and would automatically know particular items that I purchase every month.

I particularly enjoy the ground beef. It adds a delicious touch to any dish without being overly watery, and it also tastes very fresh!
