What upset me even more—and the main reason I'm writing this rare review—is that there was no follow-up from the owner, even three days later, despite Karen's efforts to communicate the issue that night and my follow-up emails. To add to my frustration, two young children were served the raw chicken first, but fortunately, we caught the problem before they tried to eat it. On a positive note, the green beans and potatoes were delicious, and we also ordered Dough Boys pizza, which was cooked perfectly and tasted excellent. Overall, a disappointing experience that could have been handled better.

I feel compelled to share my disappointing experience with a recent catering order from Bess' Delicatessen Catering. An alarming incident during our event raised significant concerns, especially given the potential health risks it posed to the children present. The most serious issue was the discovery of raw chicken in the food served to the children. It is entirely unacceptable for a catering company like Bess' Delicatessen Catering to provide food that is not only subpar but also unsafe. Raw chicken can lead to salmonella contamination, which carries serious health risks. The safety and well-being of children should be a top priority, and it's disheartening that this critical aspect was neglected. Moreover, the lack of quality control and attention to detail from the team at Bess' Delicatessen Catering is alarming. How could such a basic mistake occur? This incident highlights a severe oversight in the food preparation process, indicating a disregard for essential food safety protocols. This negligence not only marred our event but also jeopardized the health of the children involved. The impact of this incident is significant, and I am appalled that Bess' Delicatessen Catering did not adhere to fundamental standards. In terms of customer service, the response from Bess' Delicatessen Catering fell short of expectations. Their lack of urgency and accountability in addressing the issue was disappointing. It felt as though they were more focused on minimizing the incident rather than taking immediate steps to resolve the situation and prevent future occurrences.

The most frustrating part, and the main reason I’m writing this review, is that after three days, there was no response from the owner, despite multiple calls from the server on the night of the event and several follow-up emails from me. I was disappointed and ultimately upset. Thankfully, we realized the chicken was undercooked before our two children attempted to eat it. On a positive note, the green beans and potatoes were well-prepared and tasty.

On December 4th, I hosted a birthday party for a friend who turned 100. I wanted to spend my time with Ellen and my guests not worrying about food and drinks. Bess and Samantha let me do this. They were wonderful. The food was fantastic. Lots of compliments from the guests. While I was still enjoying the last of my guests, they cleaned up the kitchen, put away leftover food and quietly left. Couldn't have asked for a better catering experience. Will use them again next year for my Christmas party. If you need a caterer or just a good sandwich, visit Bess' Deli. You won't be disappointed

Very friendly service. I had an egg salad sandwich and soup. Both were amazing. Cute deli with a lot of interesting choices and combinations.
