I was sent on my way in abysmal weather conditions in the pitch black and on my ow!! This establishment put my life at risk, which is a totally unacceptable situation!!!!!!!
Come here often to meet friends, I usually have the steak and ale pie Which was ok but not as good as usual, and my wife had a ploughmans Which was disappointing, the bread was stale, there was a tiny piece of Sausage roll, 1 slice of Apple and in general not worth the money, but the Atmosphere was good, and the staff were friendly and helpful still worth a visit
I was in the UK a fortnight ago and drank at the Church End Brewery. The guy on the next table recommended the pub at Stoke Golding which is owned by Church End. He said the Scotch Eggs were amazing. On returning to the UK myself and two friends went for lunch today. The beer, Church End Brewery, was, as you would expect, absolutely excellent. The food, largely typical pub food was well presented and of good quality. The Scotch eggs were amazing. The Chef said that he made ten of them today and we consumed seven of them including taking some home with us. Absolutely first class. So where does the 'mostly ' come in? We ordered sticky toffee pudding. Now this really should come with a Government Health Warning it didn 't! It wasn 't sticky or sickly enough!! Also, on paying the bill, the card machine wouldn 't take my card a French bank card but a 'Mastercard ' and it worked in a supermarket an hour later. The staff were hugely welcoming and hugely apologetic and embarrassed about the problem with the card machine!! Would we go there again? absolutely but we 'd do without the pudding, pay cash and take more of the Scotch eggs home with us!!
Visited several times over last few days (from the canal on a boat). We were only wanting the excellent ales always served at this lovely pub. We have however had several excellent meals here too. We sat on the patio area with flowers everywhere and a potted plant on every table! Lovely friendly staff all very dog friendly too. Fantastic attention to detail!
Come here often to meet friends at lunchtime, the staff were friendly, a good atmosphere, the menu good, the only reason I gave 4* not 5* was I thought the chips were over cooked and the pie base was a bit soggy unusual because the food is always excellent. But we would still recommend
