It has quickly become my favorite spot in Hobbs for dinner. I ordered the Caesar salad and shrimp Alfredo, and both dishes were outstanding! Highly recommended!
Now, onto the main course: the New York strip steak was well-seasoned without being overpowering. There was a bit of gristle, but overall, it was excellent, and the grill mark added just the right amount of smokiness. The rib was a pleasant surprise. While it wasn't the top-quality cut you would expect from upscale steakhouses in the city, the marbling was quite decent, and it was cooked perfectly medium. One of the medallions was almost of filet mignon quality. I appreciate the option for a self-baked potato, as it allows you to control the ratio of chives, sour cream, bacon bits, or butter. The chef's asparagus was beautifully crispy and dressed with cherry tomatoes in a vinaigrette. It was delightful and made with thin spears instead of the thicker, fibrous stems that are commonly served. The only downside was the outdated decor and those two onion rings on the steak. Honestly, I'm not a child; I would prefer grilled onions or nothing at all on a perfect steak. Regardless, our total bill was under $60 for two people. The service was excellent, and the staff was very competent.
I highly recommend the sharp potato soup. Although it wasn't listed on the menu, I discovered a recommendation for it on another website and decided to try it. I'm so glad I did—it was definitely worth it! Keep in mind that the doors open at 5 PM, so be sure to arrive early to avoid a wait for a table.
