It's definitely one of the top 10 cafes in Victoria. It's a mystery how they manage to stay in business, but it's definitely worth a visit. Check out Charlie on the Road for a good laugh and a great meal.
I have enjoyed many meals here over the years. The classic decor and affordable prices are a refreshing change. It has a nostalgic feel, like a traditional truck stop, but the food is always good. They offer a delicious hot roast beef sandwich with gravy and homemade coleslaw. In the past, I have also enjoyed a cold meat sandwich or just a simple salad for around $6.
This takeout restaurant is awful. The employees are impolite and the food, even the fried dishes, are not good. Their prices are high and I don't know how they stay in business. I have gotten food poisoning from them more than once. The coffee is not good, with a frothy top, and it is just as expensive as a proper cappuccino. When a waitress smiled at me, the rude owner told her to go make her own sandwich. I can assure you, it will be a million times better elsewhere.
Great Place to go if you want to loose weight . One look at the food ?? On offer and you will walk out no longer hungry. Would have to be in the top worst cafes in Victoria . How do these places stay...open ? Maybe worth a look for a laugh. Try Charlie's across the road .
I've popped in here many times over the years-it never changes-old fashioned takeaways and reasonable prices and generous serves. It reminds me of a trucky stop in a way but this is not to be disrespectful as the food is always good. They do reasonable...rolls with hot roast beef and gravy and nice home made rissoles. When I worked in the area I used to pop in and have a container of cold meat and salad or just salad made up for about
