The Blue Rooster - Hochatown

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal there. Staff was helpful and engaging. Provided lots of local info for us as out of town visitors. 2 lb catfish dinner was great. Expertly prepared. Enough for three people to share. The sides were good and I really enjoyed the tartar sauce. The wife had the delicious chicken avocado salad, it was delicious.

First time here, and a great place to eat. The fried catfish basket was the best. I also love the fried green tomatoes. They have a great selection of beer and drinks. The atmosphere is fantastic has tons of outside seating, as well as inside seating with great views. The place is super clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful and helping us even identified trails to go on as well as great breakfast places they're very attentive. It is a place where you order your food at your table or at the counter, and they bring it to you with a check on you often and make sure the service is great.

Couldn't get service at the bar. They do ordering through the app but not all options were available so they told us to go to the counter. We went to the counter and they just stared at us and helped everyone before us (I guess because we were a big group of women-not sure). Anyways don't go here if you want to be treated well.

We stopped in for an early lunch. The staff was friendly and helpful, but it's not a place where you're waited on hand and foot. The food was delicious. We had spicy fried chicken, fried squash, okra, and beans. Everything was tasty. We will certainly stop in again.

Delicious food! Great service! We try to visit whenever we are in town. I love the catfish.
