Mermaid - Hoi An

The Siren Restaurant in Hoi An is a standout option in this bustling city. Their specialties include dishes such as Banh Trang rolls, crispy fried taro, Lao cocoa, roasted pork stuffed squid, and fish in caramelized sauce. We recently tried the latter two dishes and found them to be exquisite. The prices at Siren Restaurant are very reasonable, and a meal for two can be enjoyed for about 2-80.

The Mermaid Restaurant, located in Hoian, is one of the "classics" of this historic city. Their specialties include "Banh Bao" or "white roses", fried wantons, Cao Lao, squid stuffed with roasted pork, and fish with caramelized sauce. We tried the last two dishes at Le Mermaid and they were exquisite. The prices are very good and you can eat for around 50-80 Dongs (between 2 and 3.5 € Note: Prices are from May 2009)
