On the western side of the river, past the Japanese Bridge and near a Christian church, there are stands where you can enjoy a beer or dinner while overlooking the river and the illuminated figures that appear from sunset until 10pm. This area is less frequented by tourists, and the gastronomic options are not very diverse. We enjoyed some rice snacks wrapped in banana leaves, fresh rolls, and fried duck. The highlight was the peaceful atmosphere. You can have a dinner for around 50,000 dongs, which is just a little over 2€.
The service is much better during lunch compared to dinner, as the large volume of people in the evening makes the service slower. However, it is definitely worth it to see the light show offered by the river, especially while enjoying a cold drink.
