I don’t have income to flagrantly waste. When I stop by a restaurant to eat, I expect to be fed. That’s the bargain restaurants make to guests. If the business fails to deliver their side of the bargain — a sustaining meal — a customer is quite justified to feel robbed. City Delicatessen robbed me. While I paid the full price of a meal, some $15, I did not receive one in return. Instead, the ersatz Deli offered a meager appetizer; hors d'oeuvres; a happy meal without the joy. The quantity of food was insufficient. This travesty of a sandwich would hardly feed a child, let alone a full grown man. Rather than dignify the insult, I sought a refund instead. The store would not oblige. Money spent, though never fed, I shuffled off, aggrieved. Like Holland itself, the City Delicatessen is a poor parody of the real thing. I give City Delicatessen 1 star.
This is a regular spot for use when we visit Holland.
Super fresh and tasty sandwiches with very friendly, attentive and kind staff. If you enjoy a great sandwich definitely stop here.
City Deli has an extensive menu of delicious sandwiches. I am never disappointed when having a meal here!
Reasonable prices and delicious food! Accommodate various dietary needs. Small and welcoming, with uplifting music playing. Love their sandwiches, salads, and grain bowls. Our new favorite restaurant!
