Blackthorn Pub - Holly

We had a great experience at a lovely pub in downtown Holly. To start, we ordered the stuffed mushrooms instead of the typical frickles, and they were delicious but the portion was small with only 5 mushrooms. The salad with spring mix lettuce was also very good. I decided to try the breakfast burger, which was so tasty that I ended up using a knife and fork to eat it so I wouldn't run out of napkins. My wife enjoyed the fish and chips, with the fish being flakey on the inside and crispy on the outside. The only downside was that we found the fries to be overly salted, though it may have just been that day. The waitress also brought us malted vinegar, which was a nice touch. Overall, a great meal and atmosphere at this pub.

Great burgers and great service by the bartender and one server. Had a really good dinner at the bar. One server wouldn't serve us at the rail while we were waiting, but another did until we were able to get seats. Thank you to her (don't know her name,brunette... even though we got seats before the drinks were made. Whoever you are, you're awesome???? ???? to the first server.

The food was tasty, but the service was very slow. It seemed like the server forgot to take our order. After some delay, I got my salad quickly, but then we had to wait a long time for our appetizer and main courses. Unfortunately, my order was mixed up and I received the wrong food. It took an additional 35 minutes to get the correct dish, which was frustrating. The food was good overall, but the service was disappointing. It seemed like the restaurant was short-staffed that evening, as the server did not give our table enough attention or try to make up for the mistakes. There were no apologies offered.

Our waitress was great and the male busser was friendly and efficient. Our drinks were always refilled promptly and the food was served hot. We will definitely be returning!"

Food was super good, nice beer selection. Service was how it should be.. would have given 5 stars but they played really bad 90s Alt-Rock the entire meal.
