It was a lovely setting, the weather outside was very pleasant, so we sat on the patio, enjoyed wine and a cocktail, and perused an irresistible menu, knowing we’ll be back. Our server, Cole, was warm, friendly, and extremely accommodating. Bravos all around!
Great experience. Service was awesome. Cole did a great job
Friendly staff! Annika and Liz helped us out with all our questions. We got a bottle of White Reign, it was very refreshing on a warm day! It was nice to enjoy it on the breezy shaded patio with a beautiful view!
My wife and I had a night out together and decided to use the opportunity to take advantage of a gift card we were given to Canterbury Hill Winery. Credit where it's due; the landscape, decor, and ambiance are very nice. Everything about the restaurant and winery appears lovely. However, we had to make a reservation, so we dressed nice and were a little disappointed to see that was not the standard. The environment was very much like an Applebee's in that regard. Our server was very pleasant, although we waited a considerable amount of time to place and receive our drink orders, even though it was just water.I eventually ordered a grilled chicken salad, and my wife had a chicken entree. In both cases, the chicken seemed overcooked; it was very tough and completely flavorless. I am certain mine had been microwaved. Honestly, fast food chicken tastes much better than what I had at CBHW.Additionally, the hard-boiled egg on my salad had a hair stuck to it. I pointed that out to the server, who was pleasant and apologized, but she made no attempt to replace the meal or remedy it in any way. I kept on eating, warily, hoping not to find another.Without our gift card, the food would have been grossly over-priced for what it was. With the gift card, it was just gross. I assure anyone reading this that I will never eat at Canterbury Hill again, and I would not recommend it to anyone else.Note: We did not have any alcohol while we were there, so if that's what you're primarily after, it might be great; I can't say. Parking: There is plenty of parking available. We had no issues with this at all.
We waited at the bar to get seated to an actual table. Once they seated us we didn’t have a waiter for about 10-15 minutes. Finally one comes over to get our order. My boyfriend ordered a steak (asked it to be rare with a baked potato and I had ordered the chicken Alfredo. After about 15 minutes we finally got his salad (but no silverware… another 25-35 minutes go by and our food FINALLY arrived. My boyfriend cuts into the steak and it’s medium well (not to mention no flavor to it his baked potato was also extremely small. My Alfredo was decent, but was not as good as what I remembered when I went there about 10 years ago. We finally seen our waitress, my boyfriend complained about the steak not being cooked right. She offered to get him another one, but after waiting about 45 minutes for the food to arrive he told her he didn’t want to wait any longer for them to cook a new one and asked if she could do anything about the price of it. She just kind of acted dumb after that response. She came by one other time to check on us. When we were done and ready to pay we had no clue where our waitress was. Another waitress asked if we were doing good and if we’d like our waiter. We got the ticket and they still charged us for the steak. I was very disappointed with the place. Out of the 5 times our waitress talked to us it seemed like we weren’t important and she was in a rush. Don’t think I’ll be coming back here anytime soon again. ??
