Smoky, tender, and delicious barbecue accompanied by a warm dose of friendliness. I've tried BBQ in many places, and I must say that BlackJaxx BBQ stands out with some fantastic offerings. The three-meat plate, featuring ribs, brisket, and pulled pork, was incredibly satisfying. The beans and coleslaw were also excellent. I highly recommend dining here when you're in Homer!

I started with the ribs, and I'm a little disappointed I did because they were by far the highlight of the meal. They were cooked to perfection—so tender they practically fell off the bone. Even the fat melted in my mouth, something I’ve never experienced with ribs before. Next, I tried the sausage. It was good, but not among my top five favorites. Personally, I prefer a Cajun twist in my sausage, but don't let that stop you; you won't find anything this tasty in Alaska. Then, I had the roll. While I'd usually choose cornbread (because I simply love it), this dinner roll was delicious. After that, I moved on to the brisket, which I’d rate among the top ten I've ever had. The smoky flavor was fantastic—something you won’t encounter in Alaska. Lastly, the beans were a delightful surprise. They were made with either brisket or pork, lending them a wonderful smoky flavor, and I was glad I opted for the double portion—they were worth it. I definitely plan to return multiple times, and honestly, I believe the prices are too low for the quality of food. For what I’m used to back in Texas, this meal was a great deal. Next time, I think I’ll try the pork, bologna, or chicken, but I’m leaning towards just getting a half rack of ribs.

I visited the Homer location for the first time, and it was just as fantastic as the other one. It's conveniently located near the Homer Ice Rink, making it one of the few places on the spit with actual parking. They do have a few outdoor tables, but it was too windy for us that day. Instead, we enjoyed our food at the local brewery, and it was a perfect pairing!

If it were possible, I would give this food truck six stars! The owner is exceptionally kind, and the barbecue is the best we've ever had. We've traveled to many places and tried numerous restaurants, but this one truly stands out as the best experience we've ever had. It has completely spoiled us for barbecue everywhere else. Judy, the owner, is such a wonderful person—she does an amazing job cooking, answering calls, and serving customers! We will definitely make it a point to return every time we visit Alaska.
