Otter Room - Homer

This restaurant is convenient for hotel guests. The service was good, and the burgers were tasty, but the seafood didn't match the quality of what we had elsewhere in Homer.

The service at this restaurant is excellent, with friendly and helpful staff. Lynno and the bartender were both very informative and patient. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. The prices are reasonable for Alaska. The dishes we tried were moist and tender, cooked and seasoned perfectly. The sauce had a slight heat paired with a comforting sweetness.

I ordered the Broken Taco Salad with ground beef, which was supposed to come with pico, salsa, sour cream, ground beef, and toasted tortilla chips. We all placed our orders for meals and appetizers together. One person in our group received their meal, but we had to wait another 15 minutes before the rest of us got our appetizers and meals simultaneously. When my Broken Taco Salad finally arrived, it was missing the salsa, sour cream, and pico that were supposed to be included. I requested these items and received the salsa and sour cream, but when I asked for the pico, I was informed they had run out. The salad itself was not very appetizing, but I tried to make the best of it. Additionally, the salad came without any cheese. Proceed with caution if you decide to order this dish.

Sure wanted to go until I saw this: Walking into the Otter Room at the Bidarka Best Western in Homer was like time travel back to 2019. Not only no masks on ANYONE, staff included, no signage regarding masks or masking, and since I was wearing a mask as I stood there waiting, I got some openly hostile glares and murmurs. I 'm bummed because I used to recommend them to our out of town guests. Now, no more. Just a reminder on my personal policy if you can 't figure out a mask with a customer present, how can I trust you to wash you hands in the bathroom solo? It 's basic food prep and health regs 101.

Needs a better kitchen crew or manager.. i cant blame the crew for how the manager trained them.. its silly they cant accommodate little things in the orders. No try for making costumers happy or want to come back
