The food wasn't that great, but the service was good. I loved how nice the lady was, she kept coming to our table asking if we are okay. The atmosphere was nice, I liked the phone booth. I do think the salad bar is a scam, because your only paying for one time and they give you a bowl
This was probably one of the worst dinners we have had in a while. Entire family pulled off the highway after a long day at the river, very excited to try out the food as there were several glowing reviews, but we left very disappointed. When we first arrived we were loving the ambiance. The patio area is beautiful. It’s really a lovely place to sit and relax, we even played a little tetherball. It was great! The food was where it went downhill. The table bread was okay, but the butter was mixed to death; to the point it was liquid goop. My mother ordered one of the chicken entrees. Her chicken was dry and bland to the point she decided she wasn’t going to even bother trying to eat it, and her mashed potatoes were stone cold. My steak (ordered medium rare) was indeed pink, but was so chewy, tough, and dry that I also did not eat it. One of our party members as well as myself specifically asked if there was a “loaded” baked potato option. We were told yes, and therefore ordered loaded baked potatoes. We received potatoes with butter, cheese, and barely any sour cream. They were also not salted at all. I asked our server if they perhaps had green onions, she says yes but they’re extra. I don’t understand why we weren’t just told that when we ordered “loaded” baked potatoes? So I said that was fine and asked if we could have some. Takes a while, but we get them. Then we both realize neither potato has bacon in it. Again, WHY not just tell us when we asked about the green onions or the “loaded” option? So we ask again and receive the same answer, it’s extra. Eventually we get our toppings for an actually loaded baked potato, and found it to be the only truly edible part of our meals. My husband was disappointed in his dish as well, as it seemed to just be basic hamburger patties with chopped up peppers slathered in cheese to make it presentable. Overall it was just a very weird experience. None of us took any leftovers despite there being a good amount of food left behind. Our server was obviously not in control of the food and we totally understand that, but it seemed like a little lackluster. I will say when the manager came over to discuss our less than favorable experience she was very professional and immediately took those entrees off our bill which we very much appreciated. We also enjoyed the appetizers, the sample platter was decent! We all agreed that had we left it at drinks and appetizers it probably would have been a more pleasant experience.
Love this little historic restaurant! Great bar, Amazing food and sweet staff. Kids are always welcomed and spacious outdoors make it perfect for cooler evenings. Parking: Great lot for parking Kid-friendliness: Yes Wheelchair accessibility: Yes
Waitress was good but seemed to be short staffed in dining room and kitchen. Appetizers were good. Pepper steaks were too dry.
