Although I personally prefer dishes with more juice and less butter and stronger, wild flavors, this is still the best cake I've had in Hong Kong so far. The crust is excellent, leading all the way through the cake. The fillings are flavorful and complex. The chips are out of this world, with a crispy exterior and fluffy interior. The Scotch egg I tried was uniquely delicious, with spicy sausage and possibly black pudding added. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a pub, with white brick walls and bright wood accents creating a cozy setting. It's a great place for a laugh. I'll definitely be back for more, and maybe next time I'll enjoy a pub dinner with a real pint (or four).
The Globe is a gastropub that takes you to a different world. The décor gives off an English or Irish pub vibe, and the food consistently exceeds expectations. It's safe to say that they have mastered the quality of their food.
The cloudy and chilly weather brings back memories of my time in Great Britain when students loved going to pubs for some pub food. I remember all the nights spent indulging in curry and cake. I never thought I would find those familiar tastes in Hong Kong again, but this place truly amazed me!
Great service from the manager. was there for christmas, as they know, very much seasonal opportunity. they missed my order, I'm waiting for an hour for cake. after an hour I hunted and a few minutes later manager comes by and says sad, let them offer me 2 drinks on the house, which was a fantastic gesture. they turned an unpleasant experience to a grandiose impression, Win-Win. it is the thought and care that counts.
Quite fancy pub. First ever scotch egg, i imagine is nothing like what one would get at a gas station. Again, quite fancy. Impressive selection of beers, excellent environment for fancy people willing to pay $200 for less than a pint.
