Barbeque Town Drive Inn - Honolulu

This place is one of my favorites since primary school (a lot of years ago directly opposite the street). A few decades later and the prices are still amazing and the food is still delicious. Katsu plate never fails, but I always ask what is special if there is something I want to try: CASH ONLY, so come prepared:

My husband and I were in Hawaii last week and visited Byodo In Temple. After we left the temple, we wanted to make a quick stop at McDonald's, but the line was so long, we decided to run. When we wanted to leave the stripe, we started a sign of what looks like a sandwich shop, so we stopped and found it was a barbecue. They looked like they just opened and still no din. It was probably the best food I've eaten since we arrived in Hawaii three days before! My husband and I ate in the car and had our best meal of the day:

Best BBQ chicken, hands down. I've been here since I was little and honest the best BBQ chicken I've ever had. I can't recommend enough and I hope they stay in business forever because their chicken brings nostalgic vibes. Could take about 20 minutes to make, but that's worth waiting. Order ahead to avoid waiting.

Damn good plate lunch. We both got the mixed BBQ plate.
