The menu prices were higher than at other establishments, but we decided to give it a shot due to the generally positive reviews. Unfortunately, the prime rib was disappointing. Despite the restaurant's recommendation, I found it to be lacking in flavor and tenderness. On a brighter note, my partner's dish, the paella, was enjoyable and flavorful. Sadly, the appetizer didn't impress either.
This restaurant has a casual vibe and plenty of outdoor seating. Being in Waikiki, don’t expect Michelin-star service or dining, but the food arrived quickly and was satisfactory, if not particularly memorable or flavorful. The black charcoal pancakes were nothing special and tasted just like regular pancakes, so they're only worth trying for an Instagram post. The other dishes we ordered were all safe and fairly tasty, but nothing exceptional. Overall, the prices felt high for what we received, and it seems like they relied heavily on trends rather than culinary quality.
Everything was excellent from start to finish. We ordered the lobster bisque, seafood paella, macadamia nut-crusted fish, cheesecake, coconut cake, and chocolate mousse cake (with three of us sharing nearly everything). The bisque had a fantastic initial flavor and a wonderful lingering taste. The seafood paella was also impressive—cooked to perfection, with the lobster and scallops being outstanding. Our meal was delicious. We started out having the lobster bisque with the charcoal rolls. This is one of the best bisque soups I have had. I ordered the macadamia nut crusted swordfish which was cooked perfectly. I had been wanting to try the macadamia nut crust and I?m glad I waited to try it at this restaurant. My boyfriend ordered the prime rib which had great flavor and was cooked perfectly as well. 10/10
January 2022: Enjoyed a birthday celebration dinner! Everything was super delicious! Started with dinner rolls that they mentioned were like a Filipino roll. It was very good. Warm with nice crust. ???? We also ordered a half bottle of Chardonnay. The wine list is quite extensive with a good range of reds and whites from the New and Old world ????! For mains, we tried the pork chop and the vegetarian gnocchi. Both were really good. The gnocchi was soft and pillowy ????.
