This restaurant truly feels like a community diner. It seemed that everyone else knew the waitress personally, but despite that, I was welcomed warmly. The chef even came over to offer me some of his homemade hot sauce. It was a fantastic experience, and I can't wait to return.
This was one of the highlights of our trip to Hawaii. We were eager to try authentic Hawaiian cuisine, and this place delivered! We enjoyed nearly everything we tasted. Jerry, the chef, was a fantastic guide, providing detailed explanations about each dish we should try, which we truly appreciated. Lorraine, the owner, was equally charming. Make sure to include this restaurant in your Honolulu itinerary!
My friends and I were eager to sample authentic local Hawaiian cuisine, and while we know it can be challenging to find, we felt this restaurant came closest to offering traditional dishes. The food was both delicious and healthy, and the dessert—while simple—was outstanding. It was precisely the experience we sought, one that's hard to find in Waikiki. I highly recommend this spot to food lovers visiting Honolulu, as the dining options in Waikiki often cater too much to tourists' preferences.
Great! They explained all the food to us and made great suggestions.
