We visited late at night and while the service was good, the food was mediocre. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with authentic Japanese decor. However, we probably wouldn't return since you can find similar food quality elsewhere.
The food at Izakaya Kai is good value for the price in Waikiki. We were craving sushi and decided to try the chirashi bowl, which was satisfying. The restaurant was busy when we visited at 1 PM, with people coming and going. However, there was only one server and host on duty, so service was a bit slow. Despite this, if you consider the location and price, Izakaya Kai is a decent option.
The food at this restaurant is delicious and the service is excellent. The Japanese-style decor is beautiful and creates a great atmosphere. They have also updated their menu to offer more options for a late-night snack. Overall, it is a fantastic place to dine.
Service wasn’t very good with waiters often missing in action for extended periods of time. The food was great, but there are cheaper options available with similar quality.
Great food and excellent service. I wanted to get away from all the chain restaurants and this was an excellent choice.
